Milling Stainless Steel

Especially when stainless steel has to be milled, most tools come to their limits rather quickly and break or wear too soon. vhf now offers a triple tooth cutter with a particularly stable geometry in addition to the engraver's milling cutter for stainless steel.

This carbide triple tooth cutter with its extremely short cutting edge has a 45° spiral flute. The short cutting edge reduces the danger that the tool may break. The flatter slope reduces the chip removal forces on the workpiece and improves the chip clearance. Moreover, due to a special coating for stainless steel, the endurance of the tool will be prolonged considerably. The special geometry allows greater dipping depths and higher rates of feed, so, on the whole, it can be reached an increased removal rate.

These milling cutters are available with a shank diameter of 4 to 12 mm and a cutting edge diameter of 1 to 12 mm. They can be ordered - like all vhf carbide tools - via www.carbide-tools.com.
